Steak Night Meal Kit | Cooking Instructions

Thanks for supporting local Irish farmers and producers by buying this meal kit - we hope you enjoy it!

Below you'll find step by step instructions on how to cook it.

STEP 1

Preheat your oven to 190 degrees. To cook the chips, place them straight into the pre heated oven, and cook them in the bag for 15 minutes until they're nice and steamy!

STEP 2

Meanwhile take the fillet steaks out of the fridge and bring them to room temperature for 20 minutes.

STEP 3

Remove the chips from the bag and place on a baking sheet in the oven. Cook for 35-40 minutes at 190 degrees until they're nice and crispy on the outside.

STEP 4

Lightly brush the steaks with olive oil and season generously with achill island sea salt and pepper on both sides.

STEP 5

Bring your griddle pan to a high heat (don't oil the pan). Seal the steaks for 2 minutes 45 seconds each side on the pan (5 minutes 30 seconds in total). Then remove and put them on a roasting dish.

STEP 6

Place a knob of butter over each steak, put them into a hot oven at 200 degrees and cook to your liking: approx. 8-10 mins (for medium rare) or 14-16 minutes (for well done).

TOP TIP: Your steak will become firmer as it cooks. So, for a medium rare steak, press it with your thumb - it should feel soft and have some spring back. Cooking time will vary depending on your oven so this is a good test.

STEP 7

While you're waiting, dress the rocket with the juice of half a lemon, 3 tablespoons of olive oil, and a pinch of achill island sea salt and black pepper.

FUN FACT: Rocket was used as a popular aphrodisiac by the ancient Romans! ;)

STEP 8

Remove the steaks from the oven, place them on a serving tray, cover loosely with tinfoil and let them rest for 10 minutes.

When the resting time is up, cut the steaks into slices and serve with the chips, side salad and a dollop of bearnaise sauce on the side.

And enjoy!
